Bar Schweppes sparkles at The Melbourne Cup Carnival.

Splashes of rich heritage and dashes of contemporary style adorned the Birdcage’s premium cocktail spot at Flemington. Bar Schweppes offered guests a visual feast that showcased the brand’s 235-year heritage within a sparkling array of Schweppervescence.

Incorporating a glistening impression of the Schweppes Crystal Fountain that captivated the world in 1851, Bar Schweppes offered a glimpse of the moments that shaped the Schweppes brand over the past two centuries. Originally made with 4 tonnes of pure glass to stand 27 feet tall, the reinterpreted fountain was just one of the many features of the Birdcage hotspot.

From Jacob Schweppe, the founder of the sparkling beverage industry and the first to bring sparkling beverages to the world in 1783, to the Royal Warrant when Schweppes was appointed as the official purveyor to the Royal Family in 1836, the rich heritage was brought to life through glimmering gold installations.

Schweppes’ Premier Mixologists served up a bespoke selection of curated cocktails, each showcasing the real ingredients sourced from across the globe used to expertly craft Schweppes’ Classic Mixers. The cocktail list included the Official Cocktail of The Melbourne Cup Carnival, The Schweppes Flemington Fling, featuring a refreshing mix of vodka, fresh lime, aromatic mint and the deliciously fruity flavour of Schweppes Agrum Blood Orange.

For the first time, the Bar Schweppes experience was taken to General Admission in Flemington’s ‘The Park’. Offering cocktails and croquet throughout the Melbourne Cup Carnival, it featured beautiful racing-themed styling, a miniature ferris wheel and the distinctive sights and sounds of Flemington. For those in the Member’s Reserve, the Schweppes Flemington Fling Bar was mixing cocktails and music with a line-up of Australia’s best DJs throughout the week, ensuring patrons across the track could celebrate The Race That Stops The Nation in true Spring Racing style.
